Edens Zero Chapter 170 Review/Recap The timeskip, one of the most useful narrative devices for storytelling. When a writer wants to show the significant growth of a character but doesn’t … Continue Reading We Got a Timeskip, People!!
yone. Nero, Shura, and Ijuna are dead; Creed’s dead; Witch gave her life to save Edens Zero. Everyone’s experienced some form of loss, and Ziggy is at the heart of it all. Having seen what his adoptive Grandpa’s now capable of, Shiki can’t let him go unchecked. With a new resolve, Shiki makes a declaration of war: he will bring Ziggy down.
The war for Aoi Cosmos is over, and all that’s left is to mourn the lives lost. This week, Edens Zero returns the dead to the sea of stars.
Two days have passed since the loss of Witch, and the crew of Edens is still trying to cope with her death.
With the Edens Zero trapped in an explosion capable of wiping out entire planets, Witch makes the ultimate sacrifice for her family.
Three times. That is how many times we have now seen a planet that Shiki and the heroes have been on come under threat of destruction. Firstly, we saw the Chronophage wipe away the filth of Guilst. Then, we saw the Muller almost destroy Foresta. Now, Nero 66 is about to be on the chopping block thanks to Ziggy. Worse, there’s nothing that Shiki can do to stop his grandfather. His only option now: run.
ruth to that saying. You should never underestimate the elderly, especially when they’re superpowered and capable of destroying entire planets! In this case, Shura learns a hard lesson: if he’s gonna do one over on his old man, make sure you’ve covered all your bases! This week, Shura’s master plan falls apart in front of him. As for Nero, he learns a lesson: don’t underestimate plot armor!
So, last week, Hiro Mashima gave us one of the biggest examples of Stockholm Syndrome I’ve ever seen in my life. Laguna learned that his former comrade, Princess, got captured by Shura and horribly tortured. As a result of that, she developed severe Stockholm Syndrome and started serving the nutjob willingly. A nutjob who, by the way, just tortured Witch to near-death to piss off Shiki.
I have seen a lot of toxic relationships in the annals of fiction. Rick and Morty’s a twisted version of Doc and Marty. The Joker and Harley Quinn fills me with nothing but pity and revulsion. Name a Sith master and apprentice in Star Wars, and I’ll be 99.5% sure it’s bad. But this? What Mashima has created? This relationship is like the idea of Stockholm Syndrome and the feeling of pity had a baby!!!
After about four months of fighting, more fighting, and confronting emotional trauma, the Foresta Arc seems to be coming to an end. Ziggy’s mad plans for Foresta have been thwarted, the machines have come to their senses, and the whole planet can begin to heal. And mourn the ones they lost. In the long-term, this will lead to potential strife and discord in the Aoi Cosmos. However, in the short-term, the Edens Zero gained an important victory with the defeat of Muller. Now, for the first time, we get to see Kleene truly smile. And it is beautiful!!
I’ve been reviewing Edens Zero for two years now, and during that time, I’ve seen many villains that disgust me. That frog-man Illega, Homura’s mother, Drakken Joe. However, you know which villain I hate the most right now? Dr. Muller, the psychopathic robophile that traumatized poor Hermit. As the fight to free Foresta spirals even further out of control, we see the true depths of Dr. Muller’s depravity laid bare. That’s right; Muller’s even worse than he already was!
Our adventures on the planet Red Cave came to an end last week, but we learned a lot of new info. There are relics scattered across the universe that are filled with Mother’s Ether. Collect the Ether, and it can lead the way to Mother. It’s simple on paper, but nothing ever goes that simple in a story. Also, remember how I said that Shiki may end up angering Nero, the ruler of the Aoi Cosmos? I fear that we may be building up to just that.
We’re back, people! After a national holiday that saw manga take a break last week, Edens Zero is back and ready for a new arc. When we last saw the Edens Zero, they had made it into the Aoi Cosmos. Which, in Mashima’s mind, somehow equates to oceans in the middle of space. As the heroes continue on their journey, though, they’ve attracted attention from the authorities. Enough attention for the Interstellar Army to call something called a “Prayer Council.” What is a Prayer Council? I don’t know, but it sounds important.
Edens Zero Chapter 99 Review/Recap It feels like it was only yesterday that Edens Zero began. Now here we are, on the cusp of a hundred chapters, and an anime … Continue Reading To a New Adventure! But Where’s Connor?
As the Shining Stars begin to push the Element 4 back, Noah reveals the secrets behind Rebecca’s powers and how they may be the key to defeating Drakken Joe.
