Have you ever looked at two shows and thought that they would work great together? Whether its the premise or the characters they have, you just think these two shows would go together like peanut butter and jelly. However, that dream PB&J crossover sandwich can never happen for one reason or another. Fortunately, the power of fandom’s and the Internet can change that. For my next fan fiction pick, this is one such case where we get the sandwich. Only the peanut butter and jelly’s made from two bright stars.
Over the last few months, I’ve covered a lot of fan fiction revolving around Star vs. The Forces of Evil. It’s my way of dealing with the need I have for more Star vs. content because, despite enjoying the finale, I was left wanting more. Lucky for me, a lot of the fan fics I find end up being pretty good. However, I don’t think I’ve found a fan fic quite like Royal Secrets by BlackWolfWrites.
After reading fanfics for a while, I’ve realized that nothing grinds my gears more than seeing fan stories be hindered by poor grammar and spelling. Then when I found this one that combined the premise behind Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with Star vs. the Forces of Evil, something in me made me compelled to step in and do something to help with its grammar and spelling problems.
A running gag throughout the Star fandom is the fact that Marco winds up having a bunch of different girls attracted to him. Thus, he’s the subject to heavy shipping in the fandom. Starco, Jarco, Janco, Markapoo, Kellco, Higgsco! The guy’s like a harem anime protagonist. So, in this next fan-fic, we run with that idea and see how far it can go.
To celebrate the fifth anniverserary of the show, I wanted to review a fan fiction for Star vs. The Forces of Evil that takes the topic of the Blood Moon and turns into a three book epic.
Remember that week of Star vs fan fiction I did a few months ago? There was actually another pick I had that I ultimately chose not to include. However, I’ve decided that this story’s just too good to not talk about. It captures the spirit of the show in writing style and in artwork. Not to mention I’ve become good friends with the author on Twitter. So, time to get a little weird and a little wild when two worlds collide!
I finally reach the end of my character analysis for Hippie’s Monster Love series. Here I talk about most of the other characters found in this fanfic.
For the second part of my Monster Love character analysis, I look at Star the Monster Princess and its main characters, Star and Marco
I’ve had so much fun reading Hippie’s Monster Love series, I decided to do a character analysis of his stories. First is Moon and Monsters!
This is A Tale of Moon and Monsters, and its sequel, Star the Monster Princess. Two stories made by my new internet friend, The Wandering Hippie.
I’ve spent the last week going over some of the best fan works for Star vs. The Forces of Evil. More so I wanted to do this for my enjoyment. I’ve saved the best for last, though. This AU’s good enough to be it’s own show, hitting all the right notes to tell an original story that retains all the hallmarks of Star. This is the story of a boy who was raised by monsters, Light of the Sun and Stars.
It’s the next-generation, fanmade sequel the show deserves. Instead of being about the kids of the cast, this is about Mariposa and Meteora. I give you Echo Creek: A Tale of Two Butterflies
What would happen if your future kids came back from the future to make sure your parents get together and preserve their existence? It sounds like a version of “Back to the Future” or other time travel stories, but this one has a twist. In this case, the kids are from two separate futures… and have two different moms. This scenario is precisely the dilemma that Marco Diaz faces in this next fan work, Ship War AU by MoringMark.
One of the big things that I’ve learned about the fan community for Star vs. The Forces of Evil is that there’s a lot of shipping. When there’s a lot of shipping, that leads to the concept of next gen original characters, and there are kids from almost every pairing in SvTFOE. Kids from Star and Marco, Star and Tom, Marco and Jackie, even a few for Marco and Janna. Basically, if anyone thought they’d make a good pair, the fans made kids for them. So MoringMark and a bunch of other fan creators had the idea of banding them together in one place. That leads us to today’s Star vs. Fan Work, SvTFOE Metaverse.
