When we last left off Edens Zero two weeks ago, the Rutherford siblings were locked in battle with Lyra and Callum of the Ocean’s 6. At first, their wind Ether Gear let them put up an impressive fight. However, Jinn got caught off-guard when he realized that Callum was his old sparring partner from his dojo days on Guilst. Thanks to that, the two were forced on the defensive as Callum started to turn Jinn’s body into mist! In order to win, the Winds of Edens will need to dig deep to unlock their latent power!
After about four months of fighting, more fighting, and confronting emotional trauma, the Foresta Arc seems to be coming to an end. Ziggy’s mad plans for Foresta have been thwarted, the machines have come to their senses, and the whole planet can begin to heal. And mourn the ones they lost. In the long-term, this will lead to potential strife and discord in the Aoi Cosmos. However, in the short-term, the Edens Zero gained an important victory with the defeat of Muller. Now, for the first time, we get to see Kleene truly smile. And it is beautiful!!
Do I have any longtime anime and manga fans here? If the answer’s yes, then you might have heard of Planet Namek? That alien planet the heroes went to in Dragon Ball Z that Frieza blew up at the end of the saga. Why am I bringing this up now? Simple: because Muller’s trying to pull a Planet Namek in the new chapter of Edens Zero, and that makes me hate him so much, I refuse to call him a person. I will now refer to Muller as an “it”.
I’ve been reviewing Edens Zero for two years now, and during that time, I’ve seen many villains that disgust me. That frog-man Illega, Homura’s mother, Drakken Joe. However, you know which villain I hate the most right now? Dr. Muller, the psychopathic robophile that traumatized poor Hermit. As the fight to free Foresta spirals even further out of control, we see the true depths of Dr. Muller’s depravity laid bare. That’s right; Muller’s even worse than he already was!
As the manga reaches its 100th chapter, the heroes head off on their new quest. Meanwhile, we get our first look at the Edens One. It looks like a fish.
So, remember back in chapter 81 when we saw Drakken Joe show off what Ether Gear Overdrive is? That was already scary as it was. However, Mashima manages to take that and make Overdrive even more terrifying! Even Shiki’s going to need some help beating the Crime Lord. And as events in this chapter show, Weisz may end up being what helps them to win.
