The war for Aoi Cosmos is over, and all that’s left is to mourn the lives lost. This week, Edens Zero returns the dead to the sea of stars.
Two days have passed since the loss of Witch, and the crew of Edens is still trying to cope with her death.
You know how some works of fiction like to stick it to the idea of destiny? In Edens Zero, the power of the void let Ziggy do just that!
ruth to that saying. You should never underestimate the elderly, especially when they’re superpowered and capable of destroying entire planets! In this case, Shura learns a hard lesson: if he’s gonna do one over on his old man, make sure you’ve covered all your bases! This week, Shura’s master plan falls apart in front of him. As for Nero, he learns a lesson: don’t underestimate plot armor!

Time after time, Edens Zero has proven to be the darkest work of Hiro Mashima to date. We’ve seen the heroes be put through immense mental torture, suffer great loss, and in one timeline, we saw Shiki die! Well, that trend is about to, unfortunately, continue. This week, Mashima may have just sent several more named characters to their deaths.
So, last week, Hiro Mashima gave us one of the biggest examples of Stockholm Syndrome I’ve ever seen in my life. Laguna learned that his former comrade, Princess, got captured by Shura and horribly tortured. As a result of that, she developed severe Stockholm Syndrome and started serving the nutjob willingly. A nutjob who, by the way, just tortured Witch to near-death to piss off Shiki.
I have seen a lot of toxic relationships in the annals of fiction. Rick and Morty’s a twisted version of Doc and Marty. The Joker and Harley Quinn fills me with nothing but pity and revulsion. Name a Sith master and apprentice in Star Wars, and I’ll be 99.5% sure it’s bad. But this? What Mashima has created? This relationship is like the idea of Stockholm Syndrome and the feeling of pity had a baby!!!

akes him ten times as dangerous. Worse, he’s got no loyalty whatsoever to his adoptive father, and this chapter proves it!
When we last left off Edens Zero two weeks ago, the Rutherford siblings were locked in battle with Lyra and Callum of the Ocean’s 6. At first, their wind Ether Gear let them put up an impressive fight. However, Jinn got caught off-guard when he realized that Callum was his old sparring partner from his dojo days on Guilst. Thanks to that, the two were forced on the defensive as Callum started to turn Jinn’s body into mist! In order to win, the Winds of Edens will need to dig deep to unlock their latent power!
ninjutsu was amazing! So, when Hiro Mashima gave us the cyborg ninja, Jinn, I was understandably excited. However, the only thing better than one ninja is two ninja’s fighting each other! And as it turns out, Callum of the Ocean’s 6 is trained in the ways of ninjutsu! It’s time for a ninja fight!
As Rebecca tries to figure out how Lyra has the upper hand on her, she realizes that Lyra’s cheating! Can Rebecca outwit the Ocean’s 6 member?
Rebecca’s playing a sadistic card game with her dignity and legs on the line, but can she hope to come out on top against Lyra?
Okay, I know that Hiro Mashima seems determined to make Edens Zero darker and edgier than his previous works. But now it seems like he’s just determined to put the heroes through the ringer as many times as possible. First, Rebecca jumped to the future to learn she’s in a coma and lost her legs. Then, she wakes up to find that Lyra of the Ocean’s 6 has her dressed like a bunny girl and forced to play a card game in front of a live audience. And now, we find out just how bad things will get for her if she loses. And they are bad!
