DuckTales Season 3 Episode 21-The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck

The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck!

When you spend your life accumulating enemies, you have to wonder: is it them, or are you part of the problem? This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a cartoon make a famous hero deal with this dilemma. The Batman:TAS episode “Trial” did a great job with this concept. Still, given how many enemies Scrooge McDuck’s made, you have to wonder if he’s egging them on. That’s why this episode sees Scrooge taken to karmic court. Is he responsible for making his worst enemies? Spoiler alert: they were all jerks before he met them.

DuckTales Season 3 Episode 20-Baloo and a Grown-Up Kit

TaleSpin Cements DuckTales Reboot as Ultimate Disney Afternoon Love Letter

Let it be known here and now to all who read this. The 2017 reboot of DuckTales is the ultimate love letter to the legendary Disney Afternoon block! They have included the likes of DarkWing Duck, Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop, Quack Pack, Gummi Bears, and even Bonkers. But as the show enters its home stretch, it finally adds the last show from the Disney Afternoon: TaleSpin.

DuckTales Season 3 Episode 18- How Santa Stole Christmas, Santa and Scrooge Meeting

Why Does Scrooge Hate Santa? Answer Will Surprise You!

Next to what happened to Della, the reason why Scrooge hates Santa Claus has to be the biggest mystery of the DuckTales! reboot. The mere mention of him is enough to make him go nuts. But the show’s never given us an actual reason for his hate for St. Nick. Until now. That’s right, we finally learn why Scrooge hates Santa

DuckTales Season 3, Episode 8- The Phantom Blot

DuckTales Returns to Remind us Friendship is Literally Magic

Good news, everyone: DuckTales is back for more adventures! With The Owl House between Seasons and Amphibia on hiatus, the timing could not be better for me. I needed some sort of cartoon to review, and since I love DuckTales, this is perfect!

The Owl House Episode 19- Young Blood, Old Souls- The Rise of the Good Witch Luz

The Rise of the Good Witch Luz

Remember everything that happened last episode? Eda succumbed to her curse and got captured by Lilith. We got the first appearance of the show’s apparent antagonist, Emperor Belos. And top it all off, we learned Lilith cursed Eda as kids. Everything had led to Luz hitting rock-bottom, but we all knew that she wasn’t going to let Belos win. As a result, we got to see Luz come into her own as a witch this episode. This marks the rise of the Good Witch Luz.

The Owl House Episode 18- Agony of A Witch- Luz Breaks Down in Tears

A Witch Loses a Teacher

So, I went ahead and watched the new episode of The Owl House on the DisneyNOW App on my phone hours before it would air on TV. I’m glad that I did, because I would need the extra time to process what I just saw. Heck, I’m still trying to process everything! But that’s not going to stop me from writing a review of what may be the biggest episode thus far. If you haven’t seen it yet, then turn back now, because this will be filled with spoilers. Spoilers, and tears, because this episode gets very sad as a witch loses a teacher.

Amphibia Season 2 Episode 5- The Curator and Frog Soos

Gravity Falls+ Amphibia Crossover At Last

No ifs, ands, or buts about it: Disney animation was on absolute fire this weekend! First, we had Adam McArthur guest-starring on Big City Greens (complete with Marco’s hairstyle and mole.) We ended the night with an enchanting Grom Night with massive shipping fuel. But in between then was the main attraction, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the Amphibia+Gravity Falls crossover episode! And it was everything fans of Gravity Falls could have wanted, and then some.

The Owl House Episode 15- Understanding Willow and Willow and Amity's Memories

Understanding Willow on The Owl House

If I had to choose the most interesting character on The Owl House, I wouldn’t choose Luz, King, or Eda. Instead, I’d choose Amity Blight. At first, we thought she was a condescending jerk. Then we learned that she was more complex than that. She puts a lot of pressure on herself, her older siblings can be a pain, and her “friends” are shallow as they come. The only real friend she had was Willow, yet she broke that off years ago. We had our theories as to why she ended her friendship with Willow, but it’s this episode that confirms them.

Amphibia Season 2 Episode 4- Quarreler's Pass and Toadcatcher-Sasha and Grime

Relationships at the Heart of Amphibia

You know what I consider to be one of the staples to a great show? Is it the plot; the music; the action and drama? All of these are considered, but one factor that I feel gets overlooked is the relationships between characters. As a show progresses, we expect to new dynamics in the relationships between the characters as they grow and change. And in this week’s episode of Amphibia, two relationships that have not gotten much focus take center-stage in two delightful episodes.
