Amphibia Season Two Opener

Amphibia Returns to Hit the Open Road

We’ve waited nearly a year for it to come back. And while it was touch and go for a bit thanks to COVID-19, I’m happy to say that Amphibia’s here with a new season. If you guys saw my post on the season two trailer, then you know just how hyped I’ve been for Season Two. The Plantar’s are traveling beyond the valley in the journey of a lifetime. There’s gonna be danger, mystery, and more to be found. So without further ado, let’s begin the review.

Close Enough Episode 2- Logan's Run'd- Josh and Emily's "Night"

Youth vs. Adulting on Close Enough

I used to think that the transitions from kid to teen and teen to adult were hard. Then I realized that its the transition from our 20s to 30s that’s the real challenge! You know you have to deal with adulting and its ups and downs, but want to stay young. And in the second episode of Close Enough, Emily and Josh deal with that exact problem.

Close Enough

Close Enough Is Great Enough

I am beyond thrilled that Close Enough is now on HBO Max. Ever since it got announced more than two years ago, I’ve been pumped to see it on TV. But then TBS dropped the ball, so HBO Max had to pick it up. And they managed to score a slam dunk with it! Not only do we see series creator JG Quintel in top form, but I feel like this show’s come at such a crucial time in our lives. To be more specific, it’s come out a crucial time in the lives of millennials. We’re moving away from being young adults into full-fledged grownups and parents and facing new challenges. So, it’s great that we have a show that gives a voice to those issues while also making us laugh about them.

Animation’s Going to Own this Summer

Even with how rotten 2020’s been, It’s nice to know that there’s still things that I can honestly look forward to. And considering how this week’s going to have the premiere of a show I know I’ll love and the return of two shows I already love, I am one happy camper. Earlier today, Disney released teasers showing what’s next for its shows Amphibia, Big City Greens, and The Owl House. And I knew that I just had to come here and gush about them.

Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 12- Lover's Quarrel

A Lover’s Quarrel Defines the Penultimate Episode

So, after getting some actually helpful advice from the Joker of all people, Harley Quinn made up her mind about Ivy. She’s not going to give up on her love for Ivy or their friendship. However, Dr. Psycho continued to be a royal pain as he manages to mind-control Ivy and orders her to fight Harley to the death in a deadly lover’s quarrel. Man, that is evil.

Star vs. the Forces of Evil

Happy Starverserary to Star vs.

Okay, people, on this day one year ago, we saw the ending to two awesome shows. One of them was an animated cartoon, while the other was an adaptation of the life’s work of a guy that’s dragging his heels on finishing his work. Rather than talk about the ending to Game of Thrones since there’s enough hate for that, I wanted to talk about the end to the other good show on May 19th, 2019.

Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 8 "The Vat of Acid Episode"

The Rick and Morty Vat of Acid Episode

Rick Sanchez, I knew you were a sociopathic monster that cares little besides himself, but dang, man. The “Vat of Acid Episode” hammered home how petty Rick can be. That’s what everyone who’s watched it says, and I see no reason to argue with that. Comedic sociopathy aside, the “Vat of Acid Episode” hammered home an important point for me. That point being how far Rick will go to keep Morty under his toxic influence.

Welcome to Netflix, Avatar

Here’s to my all-time favorite cartoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender! I could go on for hours and hours about how amazing this show is. From the fighting based on real-world martial arts to the inspiration from real-world cultures, to its incorporation of anime art-styles. Avatar: The Last Airbender was, is, and hopefully always will be, the gold standard by which I judge cartoons. And I’m glad it’s up on Netflix in America.
