With the Straw Hats now at full strength, the Alliance creates a new battle plan and heads out for the party. And I break the plan down. Let’s party!
In case it wasn’t clear in the last few chapters, the second attempt of Edens Zero to take down Drakken Joe is going to be the one that succeeds. How do I know? Because I’ve seen and read Mashima’s work long enough to recognize patterns in his stories. At this point, we’re now entering the point where the supporting heroes clear out the cannon fodder like badasses. Case in point, little Hermit wrecks Fiery Fie.
Last week, One Piece took a vacation as the Alliance finally assembled for the final battle. 5,400 pirates, Minks, ninja, samurai and Yakuza all poised to take down Kaido, Big Mom and Orochi. However, the Straw Hats roster is not yet complete with one member missing. Until now that is.
Well, folks, here we are at the end of this season of My Hero Academia, and what a season it’s been! In a world without the Symbol of Peace, All Might, society’s more on edge than ever.
Things have been low-key since Overhaul’s defeat, with the show focusing on the students. Yet in the penultimate episode, we saw the Pro Heroes return to the spotlight, now lead by Endeavor. He’s always wanted to be the Symbol of Peace (or at least No. 1), and when a deadly new Nomu attacks, he has his chance to prove himself. He. Does not. Waste it.
As the Shining Stars begin to push the Element 4 back, Noah reveals the secrets behind Rebecca’s powers and how they may be the key to defeating Drakken Joe.
It’s been a crazy season for My Hero Academia, and while the second half hasn’t been as exciting, it still aims to go out with a bang. Until now, the show hasn’t really focused on how All Might’s retirement has affected the Heroes. All we know is that Endeavor is now the number one hero, but people aren’t that confident in him. In this episode, though, we see him start to make an effort to change how people think of him. Even if he doesn’t do a good job at it.
In the newest chapter of Edens Zero, we see how the raid on Belial Goer should have gone the first time: all hands on deck and ready to kick ass
In the last chapter of One Piece, the story finally returned to the present. We learned that Kanjuro was a spy for Orochi the entire time. Worse, the Scabbards got surrounded by the Beast Pirates and Momonosuke was captured. It looked like the end for the Alliance. However, we know better than that. Sure enough, the Straw Hat, Heart, and Kid Pirates showed up in their ships, ready for battle. The opening salvos of the war to liberate Wano are about to be fired!
You know, it’s almost funny when you think about it. Right now, the world of My Hero Academia is going through some tough times. Meanwhile in the real world, everyone’s hunkering down from the pandemic. But you know what, it’s in these trying times that we need to remember how to smile and have fun. That’s just what this episode of My Hero Academia does for us.
I know that I’m in the minority when I say this, but I don’t mind spoilers. They can help you avoid a movie that won’t be worth your time, they can save you days on a video game that has a lame ending, etc. The point is, sometimes spoilers can be a good thing. In this case, Rebecca having knowledge of the future is helping Edens Zero turn the tables on Drakken!
When I had heard about the rumor that there was a spy amongst the Nine Red Scabbards, I didn’t believe it. I had seen how loyal these men were to each other, and after everything they went through, the thought of one of them being a traitor never crossed my mind. After this chapter, though, I can deny it no longer: there’s a traitor in the Nine Red Scabbards. And you won’t believe who it is.
How many of you have had some fantastic dream as a child only for it to be crushed by reality? I’m pretty sure that everyone has, but that doesn’t make our inability to attain it hurt any less. Why bring this up? Because we get a look at Gentle and La Brava’s pasts in this episode, and it makes us realize that they’re not evil. They’re just two people who’ve had a lousy life and are trying to make something of it.
Last week, we saw the absolute lowest in Edens Zero give way to an unexpected hope. As Rebecca despaired over Shiki’s death and the loss of her friends, her Ether Gear suddenly activated! Next thing we know, she’s back on the ship as Shiki’s about to leave for Belial Goer. In my last post, I had hypothesized that Rebecca’s Gear returned her to the past. Now it’s confirmed. The counterattack begins!
Some of us may want to get back to the action in the present. However, this chapter gives us a vital piece of information that explains how the Alliance won’t be stopped by Orochi’s plans.
