Edens Zero Chapter 248 Review/Recap

It’s been a long time coming now, but given how they’ve been to the other three, it was time to do the same. Welcome to the Yukino Cosmos, home to Rebecca’s family and the Saintfire Church. In keeping with it’s Japanese origins of meaning “to be like snow,” it’s a winter wonderland. To the point where it might get exhausting after a while! Here’s hoping it’s not.

Edens Zero Chapter 248-The Yukino Cosmos
Source-Kodansha Comics, Mangasee

As soon as the Edens Zero arrives in the Yukino Cosmos, the first thing they notice is…how white it is. The entire cosmos has snow falling everywhere, even in space. Once they get past the wonder, though, everyone gets ready to travel to the Planet Miltz to meet Rebecca and Connor. They also happen to meet up with Feather, who now works for Rachel; and Connor’s no longer a captain, either. All that aside, though, Rachel reveals something incredible. They have a machine that can analyze Mother Ether and create waypoints that will lead them directly to Mother herself. Having heard that, the Crew of Edens hands over all the Mother Ether they’ve collected across realities, and the machine starts analyzing everything.

In the meantime, Rachel offers to let everyone partake in Miltz’s famous outdoor hot springs. As it turns out, their waters have Ether-activating properties…which is why Ziggy used them as inspiration for the Spa of Edens. As Rachel continues to remininsce about the past and Ziggy’s past visit, Feather reports an intruder’s broken into the hot springs. Suddenly, time freezes for everyone except for Rebecca, leaving her alone with a mysterious, masked figure!

Review

This was an interesting introduction to the last of the four great cosmoses, to be sure. Given how Yukino is Japanese means “to be of snow,” it was to be expected, but I didn’t think it would be to that extent! As far as locations, though, I like it, especially Miltz. It was a little disturbing seeing how they had a clock tower capable of tracking changes in the multiverse…like when Drakken Joe killed Shiki.

Now, as for the big question: who is the masked intruder supposed to be? It would seem that Rebecca wasn’t the only one who has Time Ether (or rather, had.) While I’m hoping that they’re not an enemy, there’s a good chance they might work for O.N.E. Void. If that’s true, then Rebecca’s in a lot of trouble.

Beyond that, though, not much to say about this chapter. I’m just glad that Edens Zero is done with that reunion arc and back on track to finding Mother. It’s about time we got on with that! Welcome to the Yukino Cosmos, everyone!
