The War for Egghead Island Intensifies!

One Piece Chapter 1074 Review/Recap
On the last piece of One Piece, we saw Stussy of CP0 blow her cover as a spy for Dr. Vegapunk by taking care of Lucci and Kaku. As a result of her actions, the Satellites and Straw Hats get a few moments to catch their breath. With a navy fleet containing Admiral Kizaru and one of the freaking Five Elders en route, though, Egghead Island won’t be safe for much longer. They have to get Vegapunk out now…if they can find him, and if Bonney can learn the truth about her father.
Oh, and remember how I was worried about Vivi’s status? We got an update on her this chapter.

Recap

On the ground of Egghead Island proper, the remaining CP0 agents find themselves under attack. A still-conscious Sentomaru managed to deploy the Pacifista MK. III’s, a newer, more powerful version of the ones the World Government’s used until now. Their ability to create impenetrable bubble shields lets them easily round up the agents. Going for broke, Sentomaru sends all of the MK. III’s into battle, ordering them to ensure Vegapunk and the Straw Hat’s escape.

As for the Straw Hat’s, Stussy, and the Satellites…they realize Vegapunk’s missing, along with Bonney. As a result, they split off into groups to find the two while Luffy and Zoro stay behind to watch over Lucci and Kaku. Meanwhile, Bonney’s witnessing her father’s memories for herself, and they’re not pleasant. She sees a young Kuma chased, beaten, and brutalized by people while he remains scared for his life. The shock’s so great that Bonney’s forcibly ejected from the memories. Nonetheless, she refuses to give up.

In another location, Morgans, the President of the World Economy News Paper, gets word of what’s happening on Egghead Island. Sensing an opportunity for publicity, he tells his staff to start writing something say Luffy’s fighting the Navy and taken Vegapunk hostage. This is much to the dismay of his guest…Princess Vivi!?!?
Oh, and Wapol’s there, too.
Review

Vivi’s alive and safe from the World Government. THANK HEAVENS FOR THAT!
I was one of the people who watched the awful 4Kids Dub of One Piece on Toonami back in the day, and as bad as it was, it helped me grow attached to Princess Vivi. Knowing that she’s still alive puts so many fans minds at ease. However, the fact that she’s not with her father or her guards makes me assume the worst happened to them. Maybe Cobra really is dead. Whatever happened at the Reverie, though, I’m willing to bet that Vivi might now be considered a fugitive by the World Government.
As for why Wapol’s there, I couldn’t care less. I never liked that human hippo.
As for Morgans, while the man’s a slimeball yellow journalist, I can’t help but find his planned headline hilarious. He doesn’t know it, but he’s nailed all of the events at Egghead Island, albeit Vegapunk’s leaving of his own accord.
For the moment, though, the Straw Hat and Vegapunk’s workers seem stuck. Unless they can turn off the lab’s defenses, they can’t get out and escape, and the Navy’s likely sending an armada against them. However, since it’s the Straw Hat’s, I think they can handle it. That, and as long as they have the Seraphims and Pacifistas on their side, they stand a chance at pushing the World Government back.
This chapter was mid, overall. No big revelations to be had besides Vivi being alive. I hope Oda takes us to the Straw Hat’s big escape or their epic fight with the Navy soon. I want to see Luffy beat up Kizaru so bad!
I Give “MK. III” a 3/5
