I Think Lendard Might be Cursed, Guys

Edens Zero Chapter 211 Review/Recap
If you don’t remember Jesse, then you either forgot about him, or don’t Remember the fact that he manslaughtered Creed back in the Aoi War? Worse, he framed Homura for his death, making Justice bent on getting revenge. Well, now he’s dead along with some of Elsie’s crewmates. I’m starting to feel convinced that Lendard is a planet that’s cursed.

Recap

Through a flashback, it’s revealed what happened at Elsie’s location less than 10 minutes ago. After Justice left Elsie by herself to go after Aconella, Jesse was left to guard her. However, his idea of “guarding” her is to beat her up while ranting about how he hates her guts and wants to see her suffer. As Elsie begs Jesse to let her go so she can help, Jesse keeps ranting about his hatred for her. When Elsie finally asks why, though, Jesse reveals that he and his parents were from Lendard. When the planet was destroyed, he lost everything. Now he wants to do the same to Elsie.

Minutes later, Gowen and Hyoga come looking for Elsie, only to fall into Jesse’s trap. They’re both killed, but not before taking Jesse out with them and freeing Elsie. However, Elsie’s left despondent over the loss of her crewmates, and begins to question whether she’s cursed by death.
At the same time, Homura’s pursued by more dragons, prompting her to go after Aconella. Unfortunately, that’s also who Justice is after, and he remembers what Jesse told him.
Something very bad’s about to happen.
Review
So, Jesse was from Lendard, and his parents were among the casualties when the planet fell? That explains why he has such a massive hatred for Elsie. However, he won’t get much sympathy from me for it.

I know that sounds cold-hearted, but it’s also true. Elsie already feels guilty for bringing about the destruction of Lendard and the death of her family, but it was the lesser of two evils. If she hadn’t done whatever she did, the whole Kaede Cosmos would’ve been destroyed. Elsie lost everything thanks to her own actions, just like Justice and Jesse did. The difference is that, unlike them, Elsie found new loved ones to fill the void, while they never stopped hating. And in the end, all it got Jesse was death.
As for Homura, she’s going to have to knock some sense into Justice and let him know that Jesse not only killed his comrade, but lied about it and framed her for it. Here’s hoping he’ll listen.
As for Hermit’s request at the end, I still have no idea who the true enemy on Lendard might be. However, I’m really hoping that what just happened wasn’t the catalyst for Elsie to turn evil. That would suck so much!!

I Give “Tragedy” a 3.5/5
