Oh, Man! We Were Right About Ziggy!

Edens Zero Chapter 203 Review/Recap
So, you know how I came up with the idea about Ziggy’s true identity as being that of an alternate, future version of Shiki? Everyone who thought of that, give yourselves a pat on the back. Ziggy is indeed a future of Shiki Granbell.

Recap

Inside of Deadend Crow, Jinn and Laguna reveal how they can use their Ether: Ether Jammer Canceler, courtesy of Sylph. With that, the three can now take on the likes of Deadend Crow, with Holy using her powers to melt his avatar. However, she does question why they didn’t use the chance to kill Crow; Jinn just says its because it’s what Shiki wanted. In the chamber of Mother’s, Rebecca’s team manages to recover the mother’s of everyone in the crew, while vowing to make sure Ziggy won’t harm anyone else.
At that exact moment, though, Shiki’s stunned to see what Ziggy looks like under his mask: he’s the spitting image of an older version of Shiki. Ziggy then proclaims that everything is connected. 20,000 years in the future, the machines on the Planet Eden revive the lone human they found alive, none other than Shiki. However, when he awakens, he can only say a single word: Ziggy. The Ziggy that stands before Shiki is himself 20,000 years in the future.

Review
When Xiao Mei said that time was going to be irrelevant in this story, she wasn’t kidding. The levels of timey-wimey bs the story’s gotten to have reached nuclear levels. The Ziggy that Shiki’s been fighting all this time has been himself, and that raises so many questions.
Firstly, credit where it’s due. All the fans who guessed about this earlier than I did, pat yourselves on the back. However, questions remain regarding “Ziggy.” Was Shiki’s grandpa Ziggy ever real, or has it always been an alternate version of Shiki? If the Ziggy that raised Shiki was indeed a machine, they were always separate entities.
Then there’s the fact that the flash-forward revealed that future Shiki was found in the Aoi Cosmos. Could this be what Ziggy meant when he said that Shiki was supposed to die then? Is that what happened to Ziggy himself? He failed to escape, and this was his fate, like a time loop?
My brain’s hurting from trying to figure all of this out. I, for one, am looking forward to learning the truth about all of this, though. Good job, Mashima.
I Give “Ziggy” a 4/5
