Crew of Edens Steamroll the IUA

Edens Zero Chapter 174 Review/Recap
So, the last chapter saw fit to remind us of the fact that the Oracion Seis Interstelar now lump Shiki in with their counterparts, Oracion Seis Galactica. A such, they think it’s a good idea to try and arrest him when he comes back to Bluegarden instead of letting him go fight his evil Grandpa. We know what’s about to happen, though. Mashima is using this as a chance for the rest of Crew of Edens to show how strong they’ve gotten during the timeskip. The best way to do that is to steamroll a bunch of enemy mooks.
This is gonna be fun to watch.

Recap

Having surrounded the guildhall, Shiki decides that the only way to get out is to steamroll through Feather and her soldiers. Thus, they opt for the simple, full-frontal assault. What follows is just what they expected to come out of it. Each crewmember manages to plow straight through the enemy without actually hurting them in the process.

Despite Feather’s Ether Gear letting her predict their moves, it doesn’t matter for the heroes. They’re so strong, they can steamroll right through them all. Even Shiki manages to walk right past Feather herself. However, As Hermit and Witch point out, an entire fleet’s waiting for them in orbit. They either fight them all or outrun them. That’s when Connor reappears, saying that with him piloting the ship, they can lose the IUA.

Review
Everything that happened in this chapter was as I predicted. This entire scenario was meant to do one thing and one thing alone: show the readers what the heroes are now capable of. And the best way to do that following a time-skip is by having the heroes fight a bunch of enemy mooks in combat. In this case, Feather and her army got tapped to be steamrolled by the Crew of Edens.

As far as showcasing their new powers, the Crew of Edens both surprised and didn’t surprise me. What surprised me was things such as Weisz now able to use his Ether Gear to create some kind of metal armor, and Happy can create a solo blaster mode. However, the biggest surprise of all was Rebecca achieving Overdrive. It looks absolutely amazing, too!

In addition, the fact that Connor decided to stick around and help the heroes out was also a surprise, but a welcome one. If he’s like how he was in Universe 1, then he means it when he says he can help them escape the IUA. Speaking of which, there’s a chance that the Edens Zero may have gotten some upgrades over the past three years, and I can’t wait to see those in play. Good chapter, overalll.

While I think this was Cool, Necessary, and Appropriately placed(before the fight against Ziggy); I feel like they could have used someone else to show their strength. It’s like; this battle now makes Feather look “weak-” like she can’t measure up in comparison to the other members of Interstelar. Which sucks for me because I was kind of hyped after figure out what she looked like.
Rebecca’s Overdrive is pretty nice. I wonder how she attained it? And is it just me, or does she seem PHYSICALLY stronger here(leaping over a whole Horde of Enemy Fodder and kicking them in the faces) than she was 3 years ago? I kind of want to see her in more hand-to-hand combat now!!
Looks like they’ve someone to pilot the ship. Which is Good because I get the feeling that Hermit and Sister can’t REALLY pilot it(probably only get it from point a to point b safely). As such; having someone like Connor onboard will make “sailing through the Universe” a breeze!
