The Tale of Momo the Fearless and the Astonishing Luffy!

One Piece Chapter 1026 Review/Recap
We all knew that this was coming. Kaido may have beaten Luffy in their first two clashes, but he made one fatal mistake. One mistake that’s going to cost him everything: he let Straw Hat live. Twice! In addition, he also failed to make sure that Momo was dead. Now, both those screw-ups have come back to bite him, literally! This is the start of the legendary of Momo the Fearless, the new Shogun of Wano!

Recap

As the Fire Festival continues in the Flower Capital, everyone on Onigashima’s shocked when a peach-colored dragon appears and challenges Kaido. Unfortunately, despite now being an adult, Momo’s still afraid of Kaido. As a result, all he can do is dodge against the Yonko’s attacks, even as Luffy attacks him.

However, as Momo remains paralyzed with fear, he remembers how Kaido killed his father, destroyed his home, and took everything from him. After that, Momo’s fear gives way to pure rage. So, he does what he has to: he bites Kaido! No longer fearing the beast, Momo the Fearless decides to do everything he can to stop Onigashima from destroying the Flower Capital. At the same time, Luffy tells everyone that he’s going to defeat Kaido. As the two pirates clash, the shockwave’s so powerful that it splits the heavens, revealing the full moon once more. As a result, Nekomanushi and Inurashi regain their Sulong forms, allowing them to defeat Jack and PeroSpero, avenging the Minks and Pedro at last.
Review
Whenever One Piece has to go on a two-week break, the next chapter usually ends up making up for it. And this chapter more than made up for it!
I don’t know what was cooler: the fact that Momo the Fearless (that’s what I’m calling him now) conquered his fear of Kaido in the most epic way possible, or that Luffy’s now fighting him on equal footing.
And the way that the two’s Haki split the heavens! The only times we’ve seen that happen is when two people of Yonko-level or more fight each other. Luffy’s done it! He’s finally at the same level as the Yonko! In other words, Luffy’s going to win.
I don’t know how much longer the Wano Arc will last for, but I know that it’s going to be a battle that fans will talk about for years to come. Luffy’s dream will finally be within reach, just like Oden’s dream for Wano lives on through his son, Momo the Fearless, Shogun of Wano!
Oh, yeah, and Orochi’s still alive somehow. But he’s going to get what’s coming to him very soon.
I Give “Tennozan: Turning Point” a 5/5
