Edens Zero Chapter 144 Review/Recap
I seem to recall a while back comparing some of the fights in Edens Zero to that of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. By that, I meant that they could follow rules that broke the fighting norms in the Shonen genre. Laguna being able to people into water if they cry? That is bizarre, no pun intended! However, I never expected that they would use the concept of the mirror world here. And Homura’s stuck right in the middle of it!
Recap
As the space battle continues to rage above Nero 66, Eraser and Oasis make contact with each other. Despite not wanting civilians to get involved , Eraser agrees to let Oasis fight alongside them. Down on the surface, though, things are starting to go bad for the heroes. Hermit gets a message out to Shiki, but before he can go to face Shura, the latter’s battle droid’s self-destruct!
Back with the strike team, they’re left confused as to why Homura’s gone berserk and attacking them. It doesn’t take them long to figure out that this is her counterpart from the mirror world, but that does little good. When Weisz somehow gets swapped out for his mirror world version, Rebecca has no choice. She uses Reverse to jump back in time, but is too late to prevent Homura’s switch, so she tells everyone to run for it. As a result, Homura’s left trapped in the mirror world. Her opponent? None other than Milani, one of the Ocean’s 6!
Review
As I said before, this reminds me a lot of the fights from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. It’s the kind of fight that doesn’t really follow conventional Shonen fighting rules. Also, I remember a villain in JoJo that used powers that involved mirrors. Honestly, if Rebecca didn’t use Reverse, then they would’ve gotten wiped out right then and there.
My best guess, if Homura wants to get out, she’s going to have to beat Milani. It was going to have to happen, anyway. Next chapter, the fight between the Edens Zero and the Ocean’s 6 begins!

I might have said it before, but I prefer Hamon to Stands- I’d want to fight with my own 2 hands rather than have a “Ghost” floating around me at all times.
You know; from Milani’s description and dialogue- I suspected she’d be the one to fight Homura. And I think that Lyra vs Weisz would also be interesting. But as for this fight; I’m curious to see what kind of offensive capabilities Milani has. Maybe she can copy her opponents powers- “like looking in a mirror.”
Rebecca’s “Reverse” getting more limitations is cool. So she can only use it 3 times a day(Once to beat Brittany, and those 2 test runs), and she can only go back 90 seconds. Alright, then…….
Kris’s analysis revealed his Ether Gear’s name: “Wind Rage.” It makes me further wonder how he and his sister learned to use Ether gear.
