Edens Zero Chapter 114 Review/Recap

Well, it looks my predictions from the last few posts are turning out to be accurate. Shiki and his crew are about to get involved in a three way war on Foresta. The crew of Edens Zero vs. Emperor Nero’s team of purgers vs. the machines that Ziggy drove crazy. And judging by how this chapter ends, it’s going to be a tough fight.

Recap

Edens Zero Chapter 114- The Team is ready for battle

After the last chapter ended with Shiki, his friends (and Couchpo) being found by the machines, the group has no choice but to make a break for it. One badass display of skill and teamwork later, and the group makes a break for the Aqua Wing. While this is going on, Sister finishes examining Kleene, but she remains baffled by her case. Not helping is the fact that Jinn told her not to ask about her past, or else bad things will happen. This gets cut short, though, when Hermit spots enemy drones headed towards Edens Zero, forcing everyone to arm for battle.

Edens Zero Chapter 114- RIP Eggbot

Back on the ground, the group’s about to make it to their ship when they spot a tiny machine. Unlike the others, this one remained free from Ziggy’s virus, and is fleeing from Emperor Nero’s men who are just killing every machine on the planet. Right when Shiki promises to protect the little guy, it gets gunned down by Nero Commando Mora. Outraged, the group tries to retaliate, only to get caught in these weird glue traps.

Review

We all knew that Shiki and the others would go berserk the second they found out Nero’s cronies were going to kill off all the machines. I just wished that they hadn’t run into them so soon. Now that the Nero Commando’s know about them, they’ll do whatever they can to keep them from meddling. Add in Elsie’s eventual arrival, and we’re looking at a full-scale war. In addition, I just realized that the Commando’s might go after Happy and Pino, which will only make things worse. No matter how I look at it, the Edens Zero is going to be in Nero’s sights after today. Good.

If Nero is an even bigger villain than Drakken Joe, then I doubt that Shiki will want to leave Aqua Cosmos under his rule. Therefore, a fight between the Demon King Shiki and Emperor Nero was always going to happen. I can’t wait.

On another note, there’s the matter of Kleene. She’s wearing that thing in her hair to suppress her emotions for a reason, and Jinn doesn’t want people to know about it. Especially Kleene herself. We don’t know enough yet, but my guess is that this will be a recurring sub-plot, so it’s good that it’s being addressed now.

As far as chapters go, I liked this one. The death of that cute robot helped drive home how high the stakes are. Really looking forward to seeing how things develop from here.

  1. I kind of get the feeling that Jinn’s “History with Mutilation” he alluded to in chapter 83 is somewhat tied to the trauma in Kleene’s past. So maybe they BOTH don’t want to remember it- but in Jinn’s case, he doesn’t have a choice. And he might not want Kleene to remember because whatever happened was in someway his own fault. At least- that’s what Iwould believe based on his behavior.
