It’s Not Regular Show, but It’s Close Enough
Oh my god, you guys! I knew that I had missed J.G. Quintel’s work since Regular Show came to an end in 2018. But after seeing all the hype-building that Warner Bros has been doing for his upcoming show, Close Enough, I realized just how much I missed seeing his stuff!
For those of you who don’t know, Close Enough is the new, adult-oriented series created by the young genius behind Regular Show, J.G. Quintel. It was originally supposed to air as part of this animation block on TBS sometime in either 2018 or 2019. However, those plans fell through. As a result, this show entered a state of limbo, and got some notoriety in circles of the Internet as a result.
Then HBO MAX stepped in and said that they would be releasing the show on their streaming service. And from what I’ve heard, they’re advertising the heck out of it.
The show itself is about a young married couple who live with their five-year-old daughter and divorced friends in an L.A. apartment. Given this is Quintel, expect a lot of surreal misadventures along the way.
When the series comes out, I plan on reviewing it properly. Until then, though, I hope this post encourages you to watch it when it does.
