Last week, we saw the absolute lowest in Edens Zero give way to an unexpected hope. As Rebecca despaired over Shiki’s death and the loss of her friends, her Ether Gear suddenly activated! Next thing we know, she’s back on the ship as Shiki’s about to leave for Belial Goer. In my last post, I had hypothesized that Rebecca’s Gear returned her to the past. Now it’s confirmed. The counterattack begins!
Some of us may want to get back to the action in the present. However, this chapter gives us a vital piece of information that explains how the Alliance won’t be stopped by Orochi’s plans.
After a three month break, Steven Universe is back for it’s final round of episodes. And as the first half of this epilogue established, there’s a lot of unfinished business, especially with regards to Steven himself. He needs help, but has no idea how to communicate that. If I could decide when Star Wars is at its best, though, it’s when its doing thing: blowing stuff up in visually spetacular fights. And the latest episode of Star Wars: the Clone Wars not only does that, but hearkens back to early days of the show. In other words, it feels just like old times.
I’d like to give a shoutout to the author behind the Star vs. Monster Love series. He’s one of my personal favorites on fanfic.com, I talk to him frequently in PM’s, and I consider him to be a good friend. Meet the Wandering Hippie!
Ah, the body swap/life swap scenario. It’s a trope so popular, it has its own page on tvtropes.org. When two or more characters think the other has it easy, they swap places for a while. They then realize the hardships they each deal with, learn to appreciate their lives, and make up. I’ve seen it done many times in cartoons, to the point where it no longer has the same appeal. As a result, this week’s episode of The Owl House, while funny, didn’t fully hit the mark for me. But was still funny.
Normally I try to keep these review/recaps as shirt as possible. For this one though, I feel that would be a disservice to the subject. So, I’m going to talk about the deus ex machina Mashima pulled in the latest chapter of Edens Zero.
Ever since Midoriya began attending U.A., life seems to have gotten bleaker. First, the League of Villains, then Stain, All for One, Overhaul, and All Might’s retirement. However, despite how dark things are, U.A.’s determined to have their School Festival even as some seek to ruin it. Thus, both sides steel their resolve over a cup of rare tea in this episode.
